“Where Have Your Hands Been?” (link to a screen with the following text)”

If cleanliness is next to godliness, then shouldn’t we be asking ourselves “Where have my hands been?”  At SaniBrands, we believe athletes especially should be asking themselves this very question, and in a society that is ever-conscious of exposure to dirt and germs, this question becomes all the more pertinent.

Studies show that athletes have exhibited a variety of contaminants on their hands both in competition and practice.  This foreign matter includes, but is not limited to, blood, sputum, other mouth discharges (tobacco products), chemicals, animal droppings, other players DNA, and the list goes on.  These contaminants are present on playing fields (both natural and artificial), uniforms, sports equipment, competitors and teammates.

Of course, these contaminants wouldn’t pose a threat to athletes if they remained outside of the body - however with the increased use/requirement of sports mouthguards, athletes are constantly using their dirty hands to touch their mouthguards during breaks at practices and games.  Now athletes have Defense Sport, Mouth Guard Rinse to remove dirt and grime from their mouthpiece in a fast and practical way.  Just Rinse, Shake, Play.

  • Mouthguards in Sports: A Necessary Piece of Equipment

SaniBrands is not only concerned with the cleanliness of mouthguards, but also with educating the general public about the benefits of wearing a sports mouthguard during athletic activity.  The following article briefly explains the severity of some dental and facial injuries that can occur in the absence of any protection for the teeth.  The article mentions that “an athlete is 60 times more likely to sustain damage to the teeth when not wearing a protective mouthguard.”

An athletic mouthguard is an excellent addition to the protective sports apparel that athletes wear every time they practice or compete.  Although mouthguards are already a necessity in so many sports, it is important that athletes are educated on how to properly care for the mouthpiece and keep it clean.  This article outlines some general practices that mouthguard users should follow – and Defense Sport Mouthguard Rinse could make this routine much more practical!
